PROCESS SERVING WRIT AND JUDGMENT COLLECTION SEMINAR |

The afternoon session will cover service of bank levies and wage garnishments. We describe the pre-judgment and post judgment levy procedures, specify the minimum requirements for performing all levies, and highlight additional sheriffs’ requirements that are not in the statutes. We go through a step-by-step procedure for serving a bank levy using exemplars provided. We then describe and distinguish the service of a wage garnishment. Proofs of service for these documents must be completed and returned within 5 days from beginning to end. We describe the proper completion of the proofs of service. An introduction to Judgment Collection will be covered, including assignment agreements, finding assets, adding costs and interest, and renewal of judgments.
