Writ Seminar
The seminar covers bank levy and wage garnishment service requirements and procedures which represent the most common levies a process server encounters.
We describe the pre-judgment and post judgment levy process, specify the minimum requirements for performing all levies, and highlight additional sheriffs’ requirements that are not in the statutes.
We go through a step-by-step procedure for serving
- Bank levy (deposit account levy) using exemplars provided.
- Wage garnishment
- Real property levy
We will demonstrate how to proper prepare and completion all proofs of service for these documents.
The completed proofs must be returned to the sheriff within 5 court days from commencement of the levy.
We will describe the effects of the new law (since 2014) that change the process for deposit account and safe-deposit account attachments and levies.
This seminar will take the mystery out of writ assignments so you can serve them with confidence.
What you charge for one writ assignment will cover the cost of this seminar.
The seminar is $50, or $55 if paid after October 17, 2015.
Affidavits and Proofs of Service Seminar follows this seminar from 1:45 PM – 4:00 PM.
